The Company

Our client is a thriving M&E contractor based in Lancashire. With an annual turnover of circa £20 million they have a strong client base and multiple projects in the pipeline.

The Role

Owing to a continued increase in workload, they are looking for an Aftercare Manager to look after clients and maximise on the maintenance side of their business. So the successful candidate must come from the building services engineering sector with strong facilities and maintenance experience.

In this new role you will be running and developing the maintenance team in all aspects of the delivery of maintenance works, excellent communication is essential to both internal team members and clients. The successful candidate will report directly to the directors and be an integral part of the future growth plan for the department with significant opportunity for personal growth.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Leading our specialist team, develop detailed bespoke PPM solutions where required to develop methodical maintenance plans where applicable
  • The role will also entail the management and leadership of the aftercare and small works team, working alongside our contracting business to target and develop business on existing sites
  • Liaising with contractors, suppliers and clients to ensure information, costs, and value meet the requirements of contracts
  • Working within a broad range of industry sectors including residential, commercial, education, industrial, for both planned and reactive maintenance works
  • Providing leadership and direction to the team to evaluate information to ensure a realistic cost for the supply of works & materials for maintenance contracts.  Preparing and submitting tenders to support the department for all new PPM and small works tenders and reviewing the PPM renewal quotations
  • Good all round administrator with sector specific experience
  •  Tendering selection, evaluation and procurement of specialist subcontractors
  •  Monitoring performance of internal team and subcontractors and providing feedback where necessary
  • Building relationships and demonstrating excellent communication skills.

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • Previous experience with working in a management position within the reactive and planned maintenance works environment is essential
  • Confident IT skills, proficient in the use of MS Office
  • Previous experience of using CAFM software and the management of these systems desirable
  • Excellent leadership, timekeeping and organisational skills
  • Previous experience within the building services engineering sector is essential
  • Use of CRM systems, databases and excel
