The Client

Mech Electrics are recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to assist managing the commercial side of a major M&E contracting company. Currently working on a £20M MEP project in Birmingham alongside a high profile main contractor, the company is looking for a candidate who has experience at working with contract type JCT 16.

The Role and its Responsibilities

• Managing the commercial team and their workload
• Feasibility studies for client proposals
• Ensuring workload is covered effectively and that compliance and processes are being followed
• Overseeing the budget and cost control procedures are used effectively
• Production of forecasting, budget information and accurate reports for company and client
• Maximising the cash flow on a project
• Measuring and valuations of of works
• Identify and mitigate commercial risks
• Invoicing and payments
• Ensuring that commercial deliverables and timescales are met
• Assess, review and mitigate commercial and contractual risks

The Individual

We are looking for a candidate who has excellent verbal and written communication skills, can problem solve effectively and offer a good customer/client service. You should be naturally resilient and determined and be able to work well under pressure. 

Skills and Qualifications

• Industry relevant degree qualified 
• IT literate with experience at working with relevant industry software 
• Understanding of building regulations
• Experience at working in a senior commercial role

Salary and Package

Our client is offering a favourable salary of £65-68K plus car allowance for the role and as they are a well established and regarded major M&E contractor this will be a fantastic opportunity to progress with your career.
