Mech Electrics are recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to assist managing the commercial side of a major M&E contracting company. Currently working on a £20M MEP project in Birmingham alongside a high profile main contractor, the company is looking for a candidate who has experience at working with contract type JCT 16.
The Role and its Responsibilities
- Managing the commercial team and their workload
- Feasibility studies for client proposals
- Ensuring workload is covered effectively and that compliance and processes are being followed
- Overseeing the budget and cost control procedures are used effectively
- Production of forecasting, budget information and accurate reports for company and client
- Maximising the cash flow on a project
- Measuring and valuations of of works
- Identify and mitigate commercial risks
- Invoicing and payments
- Ensuring that commercial deliverables and timescales are met
- Assess, review and mitigate commercial and contractual risks
The Individual
We are looking for a candidate who has excellent verbal and written communication skills, can problem solve effectively and offer a good customer/client service. You should be naturally resilient and determined and be able to work well under pressure.
Skills and Qualifications
- Industry relevant degree qualified
- IT literate with experience at working with relevant industry software
- Understanding of building regulations
- Experience at working in a senior commercial role
Salary and Package
