The Client

Our client is one of the UK’s market leaders in delivering centralised community energy projects and are widely respected in this field. Due to their extensive growth, they are looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor/Senior Quantity Surveyor for their expending Commercial Team in Lancashire. 

The Role and its Responsibilities

As a Senior member of this team your responsibilities will include:

  • Financial management of contracts, working alongside the Contracts and Project Managers
  • Ensuring contract documentation is correct 
  • Vetting contractual terms and conditions and amending with the client where necessary
  • Commercial risk register production for individual contracts
  • Monitoring of risks and assisting with mitigation measures 
  • Submittal of enquiries for plant, equipment and sub-contractor packages and vetting of the quotations 
  • Maintaining on-site record keping
  • Monthly cost values preparation
  • Attending meetings
  • Payment of invoices alongside the Finance Department

The Individual

A successful applicant will have a good working knowledge in a commercial role within the M&E or utilities services field. You will need excellent negotiation and communication skills as the role will be customer focused, and you will have experience with working on difficult accounts. You should be prepared to offer flexibility to your working hours and to work away if required.

Skills and Qualifications

  • HNC/ degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or Building Engineering Services (or equivalent)
  • PC literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office 
  • Financial and Contract Management software packages is advantageous.
  • Full valid UK driving licence
