The Client

Our client are a market leader in the field of design and installation of bespoke security doors. They are currently recruiting for an Senior Engineer who can take responsibility for engineering performance or who shows expertise within a particular area. 
The Role and its Responsibilities

  • Check and approve project models, drawings and documentation
  • Ensure projects are kept within business processes
  • Guarantee engineering quality standards
  • Keep project on time schedule and within budget
  • Report to PM or Project QS
  • Report progress to Engineering Supervisor weekly
  • Oversee resourcing of project
  • Ensure that projects are of the highest quality
  • Management of Engineering in absence of Engineering Supervisor 
  • Staff and contractor selection
  • Raise and resolve NCR's 
  • Monitor design engineers performance
  • Identify training requirements of staff
  • Change log completion
  • Attendance of client meetings
  • Raise ealy warnings to PM's
  • Conduct department appraisal

The Individual

An ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and the ability to make and maintain relationships in the work environment and with customers. The role would suit a career driven candidate who has the confidence to work up in the absence of the Engineering Supervisor. 

Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum HND in Engineering and 10 years' experience in industrial sheet / fabrications OR
  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical bias), plus 6 years' engineering experience within the sector of industrial sheet / steel fabrications
  • 2D and 3D CAD software experience
  • Calculation proficient
  • Understanding of steel plate manufacturing 

Salary and Package

£36-45K dependant on experience along with company package. There is also the offer of overtime so the company are looking for a flexible candidate for this role.
