Mech Electrics are recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor for our client who are a market leader in the design and provision of high security doors. In the role you will be working alongside the PM to ensure the best possible commercial outcome for the client and the company. The company have an excellent worldwide reputation in their field and provide innovative and bespoke doorsets to industries such as defence, nuclear, security, to name a few!
The Role and its Responsibilities
- Management of commercial side of projects
- Assisting with tendering process through to final accounts
- Ensuring quality and standards are kept to
- Maintenance of documentations
- Ensure income and expenditure is in order
- Liaising with clients and management
- Production of reports and contracts
- Ensure correct distribution and filing of records/paperwork
- Risk/opportunity register reports
- Ensure compliance of contracts
- Programme monitoring
- Contract changes
- Provide guidance to stakeholders
- Keep project within the commercial strategy
- Attendance of a variety of meetings
- Support the Sales and Estimating teams
- Administration of sub-contracts
- Preparation and submission of interim payments
- recovery of outstanding debts

- Ability to work as part of a team and lead effectively

Skills and Qualifications
- HND/degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying
- 5 years' experience in similar role
- Experience in commercial management and procurement
- Contractual understanding including JCT/NEC/ICHEME
- Knowledge of Construction Law
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and IT
- Member of RICS or equivalent, or working toward this would be desirable
- CSCS card
Salary and Package
The company is offering a package of £40-45K per annum (dependant on experience) plus company benefits and car/allowance
They also have regular, routine appraisals and performance based KPI's.
