They operate in a rapidly expanding vibrant market for Heat and Power solutions, and offer the full capability of design, install, operate, maintain and bespoke environmentally friendly energy generation; and distribution systems.
We have partnered with this client since 2008 and have help deliver recruitment solutions throughout the business.
They are looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor to a growing Commercial Department.
The Role and its Responsibilities
The main purpose of this role is to assist with the financial management of Metering and Billing Contracts, in partnership with the Contracts Managers and/ or Project Managers. You will be responsible for assisting the senior members of the commercial team on numerous projects with the procurement, sub-contractor accounts and variation accounts, as well as being responsible for managing your own project work.
Key results areas are as follows:

Vet contract documentation on receipt from Client to ensure compatibility with the Company’s Tender and subsequent negotiations

Prepare and issue enquiries for Plant and Sub-Contract packages. Vet quotations commercially and negotiate price and terms with vendors. Issue resultant Purchase Orders

Prepare and submit Applications for Payment and/or Invoices, obtain Payment Certificates and progress Client Payments in accordance with contractual provisions

Measure, submit and agree Variations and/or Compensation Events in accordance with contractual provisions to facilitate prompt agreement of Final Accounts

Monitor on-site record keeping. Prepare and issue Notices in accordance with contractual provisions

Prepare and submit monthly Cost Value Reconciliations and Cash/Spend Profiles. Attend Contract Review Meetings

Authorisation and coding of Suppliers’ and Sub-Contractors’ Invoices and submission to Finance for payment

Measure, certify and agree Sub-Contractors interim valuations and final accounts. Prepare and issue contractual notices to Sub-Contractors

Assist the Finance Department in securing payment of Invoices and/or Applications for Payment
The Individual

The ideal candidate will be HNC/ degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or Building Engineering Services (or equivalent).

Ideally someone with knowledge and working experience of Mechanical / Electrical services and / or utilities with proven experience in problem solving and resolving difficult or disputed accounts to finality.

You should be able to demonstrate commercial awareness/ acumen with a strong customer focus.
