The Client
Our client is a long-standing manufacturing engineering company who are at the forefront of their industry sector. Having been established for over 100 years they have built up a diverse range of blue-chip clients both in the UK and globally. They operate across many disciplines incorporating nuclear, defence, civils, commercial, off-shore etc.
The role and its responsibilities
- This Project Manager position will be a client facing role with the following responsibilities:
- Overall management of projects from planning to completion
- Project risk management
- Ensuring Health and Safety and contractual requirements are met
- Work to cost and time frames
- Audit reviews
- Progress reports
- Motivating team
- Dealing with contracts
- Delegation and team leading
- Reviewing of works alongside other departments
- Management of sub-contractors
- Ensuring quality of project
The Individual
As Project Manager for our client you should be able to demonstrate an ability to communicate effectively with other parties. You will be able to maintain excellent relationships with clients and be confident to lead presentations on the project. A successful applicant should have a skill set including excellent problem solving, planning, organisational skills and you should be able to display initiative and leadership qualities in the role. This position will require some National and International travel, so the company require a flexible candidate.
Skills and Qualifications
- Degree/HND in Mechanical and Production biased engineering
- 5 years’ experience on major projects
- Project Management qualification
- Use of PM tools such as: Work Packages, MS Project or similar
Our client will look favourably on experience in a Defence environment, NEC Option 3 or similar contract experience and security clearance assurance.
Salary and package
£40,000 – £43,000 plus company benefits
