The Client

We are recruiting on behalf of one of our clients, a major Tier 1 M&E Contractor who, owing to continued growth and projects won, are recruiting for a Mechanical Supervisor to join their Engineering Services Division in Glasgow. The initial new build project, based in Glasgow city centre, is set to last at least 12 months and you will be moved on to further projects in the region after this.

The Role and its Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the PM 
  • Responsible for the effective implementation of the project/site programme
  • Management of the workforce, including sub-contractors
  • Maximise productivity
  • Coordinate labour and project/site activities
  • Identify labour and material requirements to ensure effective costing overall
  • Regularly review requirements and make the appropriate recommendations to amend the programme to maximise productivity whilst minimising costs
  • Provide leadership for the delivery team in line with the company procedures and values
  • Ensuring design, installation meets internal and client specifications and statutory requirements
  • Ensure compliance with the company procedures and the external legislations governing the business operations
  • Provide input in the preparation of the project cost plan, budgets and enhanced margin based on the contract parameters and objectives to enable the maximisation of profits

Skills and Qualifications

  • IOSH Managing Safely, or an equivalent health and safety qualification
  • HVAC Level 3 Trade Qualification
  • CSCS Card (Trade / Supervisor)
  • Ability to use Excel, Word, email and PowerPoint
  • Able to create relevant spreadsheets and formulae, and create and deliver presentations to team members
  • 3 years’ relevant experience within a mechanical supervisor role
