The Client

Our client are a market leading company within the field of design and production of bespoke security engineered doors. They have designed solutions for many world wide and high profile clients within the industries of defence, security, nuclear and infrastructure and are currently looking to recruit Mechanical Design Engineers to join their team in Bolton. 

The Role and its Responsibilities

• Mechanical designs and DfM
• BOM production 
• Report production 
• Sourcing of bought in items 
• Product performance requirement consideration
• Liaise with team leaders or technical leads 
• 3D modelling of individual products
• Adhere to Engineering Handbook modelling and drawing standards
• Calculate structural and mechanical calculations
• Produce detailed drawings for assembly, fabrication and as-builts
• Complete timesheets / sickness / leave / absence requests 
• Self-checking of GA's and 3D models
• Customer liaison

The Individual

The client is looking for candidates who are flexible in their work environment and will attend the shop floor when required. You should be prepared to put in overtime to finish projects on schedule and will have strong communication skills. Your work must consistently be to a high standard,  producing work with excellent attention to detail. 

Skills and Qualifications

• Minimum of HND in Engineering and 5 years' engineering experience with industrial sheet/steel fabrications or, 
• Minimum BEng Hons in Engineering (preferably Mechanical) and 3 years' engineering experience with industrial sheet/steel fabrications
• Autodesk 3D Inventor, 2D AutoCAD and Autodesk Vault experience 
• Ansys software experience, desirable
• iLogic / Visual Basic, desirable
• Steel plate manufacturing principals and constraint knowledge

Salary and Package

£32K per annum plus pension and Gainshare scheme.
