The Client

Our client are a market leading company within the field of design and production of bespoke security engineered doors. They have designed solutions for many world wide and high profile clients within the industries of defence, security, nuclear and infrastructure and are currently looking to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Bolton. 

The Role and its Responsibilities

  • Mechanical designs and DfM
  • Report writing
  • Quality adherence 
  • Work to budget constraints
  • Sourcing of items from suppliers
  • Knowledge of product performance 
  • Adherence to company legislations 
  • 3D Modelling
  • Adherence to modelling and drawing standards
  • Mechanical and structural calculations
  • Completion of timesheets and staff leave, sickness and absence requests
  • Attend review meetings 
  • Production of BOM's
  • Customer liaison

The Individual

A suitable candidate must have excellent communication skills as you will be working with both staff and clients. You must be precise in your workings and calculations and the company is also looking for a flexible individual who would be willing to work overtime to meet project demands when required. 

Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum of HND in Engineering and 5 years' engineering experience with industrial sheet/steel fabrications or, 
  • Minimum BEng Hons in Engineering (preferably Mechanical) and 3 years' engineering experience with industrial sheet/steel fabrications
  • Autodesk 3D Inventor, 2D AutoCAD and Autodesk Vault experience 
  • Ansys software experience is desirable
  • iLogic / Visual Basic is desirable
  • Calculation generation
  • Steel plate manufacturing principals and constraint knowledge

Salary and Package

£28-34K plus pension and holiday
