The Client
 
They are a leading specialist in the design, build and maintenance of energy efficient and sustainable critical infrastructure environments. 
 
Their business is an award winning technical services specialist and we have partnered with the critical infrastructure division of the business since 2010. We have helped supply staff and contractors to their design, construction, commercial and maintenance divisions. 
 
They are looking to recruit a Permanent Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Planner. 
 
The Role and its Responsibilities
  • You will be used to working on either P6 or Asta
  • Have experience in working within the built environment and used to working specifically in mechanical and electrical services, or at least managing them as part of your overall responsibility
  • Develop scheduling reports, together with planning and control leads
  • Provide technical guidance to the Commercial team.
  • Manage testing and commissioning
  • Collect and interpret schedule data and provide output to the programme with the project teams
  • Interact with the functional leads and programme leads to obtain schedule updates
  • Identify and analyse associated schedule, resource conflict and potential cost impacts and avoid potential issues through early intervention, offering alternative solutions to better the build programme overall
The Individual
 
Experience in a similar role, ideally from a mechanical and electrical contractor, or from a main contractor showing previous experience of managing the M&E packages on site. 
 
The ability to work as the single planner on a project, or as part of a team when working on considerable projects. 
You will be ok to travel to site throughout the North West, 
 
You will regularly meet with project teams and be involved with meetings with the main contractor and client, being used to the role previously will really help you in this position. 
 
Skills and Qualifications
  • OND/HND qualification in Building Services
  • Ideally RICS / CIBSE membership 
  • Experience of working with JCT & NEC option 3 contracts would be advantageous
