The Client

We are working on behalf of our client, a major construction contractor, to appoint an Electrical Supervisor, to support their growing Data Centre business. The successful candidate will join their innovative team based in Newport. The Electrical Supervisor will work with the project team and organise and co-ordinate site based activities and be responsible for the tracking and recording of site daily activities and progress and they will lead their team to deliver to quality standards, on time and within budget ensuring the team work in a safe and efficient manner.

The Role and its Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of the team and subcontractors.
  • Plan all task through identifying hazards in the work area, assessing the risks, determining and implementing control measure prior to starting any tasks.
  • Ensure the team have the relevant training for the allocated tasks.
  • Review and understanding the health and safety objective of the project.
  • Identify materials and equipment that may be required.
  • Ensuring construction is carried out accurately, following plans and specifications.

The Individual

The company are looking for a candidate who has a strong understanding of site activities and how they are planned and coordinated. You should be customer focused with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, have proven people management experience and previous experience on a large-scale site.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience as an electrician or equivalent.
  • C&G 2367 or 2357 (Electrical Installation) and NVQ level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
  • A certificate in BS7671 – The Requirements of Electrical Installations, 17th or 18th Edition. 
  • 2391 Inspection & Testing qualifications.
  • Completion of a recognised apprenticeship in the building services trade.
  • Knowledge of risk and compliance, demonstrable planning and project management skills with the ability to drive change.
  • Knowledge of LOTO Procedures would be beneficial.
