The Client

Mech Electrics are currently recruiting for an Electrical Site Manager who will based in the Darlington area. The client, who specialise in the design through to build and FM services on data centres, have a new 6 month project, with the prospect of a further 6 months for the next phase. The project is to upgrade the LV and UPS systems and extend the existing switchroom and add a GRP.

You will be full time on site and the client is happy to review CV’s from permanent staff or contract, there will be a realistic prospect of future works in the area.

The Role and its Responsibiliites

As full time Electrical Site Manager your job role will be as follows;

  • Check all operatives under your control and supervision are aware of all HSE aspects, they understand their method statements and risk assessments
  • Conduct site inductions, weekly tool box talks, ensuring that they take place and signed copies are filed
  • Assess the relevant works, ensure that all plant and material is on site, to enable the operatives to carry out their work, without delay
  • Ensure all deliveries to site are complete, and any shortages are highlighted on the delivery notes and filled under incomplete orders
  • Control of Health & Safety file, Accident book and PPE
  • Attendance of weekly or more frequent meetings with the management team and relevant sub contractors to discuss progress and co ordination
  • Sign off completion sheets
  • Ensure prior to hand over of areas, all areas are cleared of plant and redundant materials and the services and install is tagged accordingly

The Individual

A suitable Electrical Site Manager must have extensive knowledge at working within the built environment and any data centre experience would be advantageous. You should be able to run a busy and efficient site and work well alongside the other site and project managers. Excellent communication skills will be required so you can liaise with all levels of staff and you should be an effective manager!

Salary and Package

As the company are open to securing either a permanent of contract Site Manager, they are offering a salary of £45-50K plus package or a negotiable contract rate.
