The Client

We are looking for an Electrical Project Manager on behalf of our client, an innovative M&E Group recently formed from the merging of 2 well-established, successful companies. This is a great opportunity to join their experienced team, who bring together more than 150+ years’ experience and an extensive client base. Based in Macclesfield, Cheshire, they work across a diverse range of sectors in the North-West including health care, education, pharmaceutical, commercial, and domestic.

The Role and its Responsibilities

  • Responsibility for the project and contract management of electrical projects to ensure they are delivered on time and within budget along with ensuring site safety and quality is maintained.
  • Working closely with the Mechanical division to successfully deliver joint projects.
  • Supporting the production of electrical tenders for both pre-designed and design & build projects along with project management of awarded contracts.
  • Report on ongoing project performance, highlighting at risk projects and providing solutions to help deliver project targets.
  • Evaluate opportunities and work with the SMT to identify strategic opportunities.
  • Leading the team of employed and subcontracted engineers including direct line management, performance, and development of the team.
  • Be responsible for the management of labour resources on multiple sites to ensure project completion on time and within budget.
  • Leading and improving the health and safety and compliance processes including undertaking regular site safety inspections.
  • Negotiating preferential rates with suppliers to ensure best prices are always achieved.

  • IT proficient in all key Office products, including Excel and comfortable working in an office environment
  • High numeracy levels & commercial awareness a must alongside an eye for finer details

  • Possess sound management skills
  • Capable of remaining focused and calm during busy periods

Skills and Qualifications

  • Recognised industry qualifications
  • Able to read and understand tender drawings and specifications
  • Proven track record in the electrical services industry.
  • Must have sound knowledge of all electrical systems including commercial and industrial installations
  • Up to date relevant knowledge of Building legislation, BS7671:2018; BS5839, BS5266 and H&S at Work Act
  • Engineering/Installer background would be ideal
  • Experience in specialist systems (Nurse call/Fire alarms etc) would be beneficial but not essential

Salary and Package

Competitive Salary dependant on qualifications and experience, ongoing training, pension.
