The Client
 
A dedicated and experienced mechanical and electrical business that offers a full design service, both electrically and mechanically and offers a one stop shop that delivers sustainable engineering solutions. 
 
They have asked us to recruit a permanent Mechanical Project Engineer. 
 
The Role and its Responsibilities
 
Your first assignment will be on a multi-million pound project that will last for approximately 2.5 years. You will be based on site for the duration and report directly to the MEP Project Lead. 
 
You must be able to demonstrate relevant experience, having previously worked on building services projects as the lead Mechanical engineer and be able to show your ability in several different areas including –
 
  • Technical & financial review of mechanical packages.
  • Assist in enquiry and scope of works production
  • Input into technical and cost build-up of (Contractor Design Portion) CDP packages.
  • Review co-ordination and design
  • Identify risks and opportunities with individual packages.
  • Interfaces with Construction, Electrical and specialist packages.
  • Assist the Design Manager with mechanical design completeness and robustness assessments.
  • Review/Monitor against design & procurement programme
  • Collation of relevant information for market testing of packages
  • Communication with supply chain
  • Production of scope of works to project specific brief.
  • Health and Safety inspections with effective communications 
  • Management of QA & QC processes
  • Sequence of works and reporting on progress.
  • Attend and contribute in team meetings 
 
The Individual
 

Our client is looking for a proven Mechanical Engineer. To date you will have been employed in a position that demonstrates your ability to handle to role competently, to give an account of where you have added value to an engineering team on a building services project.
You will be used to reporting to a Project Lead and working alongside an Electrical Engineer, at times working collaboratively, on other occasions working independently and using your own initiative. 
 There will be a great need to have strong organisation skills, to be able to manage your time on site effectively and work closely with the team, prioritising work flow and ensuring the mechanical installation is closely managed and reviewed regularly. 

 
Skills and Qualifications
 
  • Holder of a Full UK Drivers Licence
  • CSCS card holder (Black)
  • Relevant Industry H&S qualifications as SMSTS
  • Holds the relevant industry qualifications
  • C&G, ONC, or equal (essential)
  • HNC or higher (desirable).
  • Good communicator, verbally and written
  • Time management and planning and organisation skills
  • Ability to form effective relationships within and external to the team
  • IT Literate
