The Client 

Working throughout the UK our client is currently expanding and are looking for a Design Manager to join their team. The company specialise in data centre design and build and this role will be to work on the first phase of a high value project in the North-West. The client would ideally prefer a candidate who is looking for a permanent role but may consider an applicant who is interested in a contract role. 

The Role and its Responsibilities

  • Manage the design workshops
  • Preparation of tenders 
  • Negotiating of costs, fees if required
  • Design and report production and presentation 
  • Working with internal and external teams
  • Co-ordinating and development of design
  • Ensure compliance of projects to client specifications
  • Work between pre-con, design, delivvery and commissioning departments
  • Manage the engineering team
  • Work to time and budget scales
  • Chair meetings
  • Supporting FAT testing when required
  • Coordinate with the management team and other departments

The Individual

The client is looking for a candidate with 5 years' experience in a similar role, who is from a technical background and has experience in both the mechanical and electrical fields. You will be required to pass security clearance, usually SC or DV and this role would suit someone who is enthusiatic and enjoys being hands on. You should be commercially astute and be an excellent communicator. 

Skills and Qualifications 

  • Degree Qualified
  • CSCS Card
  • Mechanical and Electrical knowledge
  • Knowledge of CSA
  • Computer literate in Mocrosoft suite
