Introduction to the client:

Our client is one of the UK’s leading independent engineering and services businesses, boasting a significant turnover and a workforce of several thousand employees. They currently have a fantastic opportunity for an Assistant Mechanical Engineer to join their team on a high-value project, working on the Manchester T2 renovation. In this role, you will support the Mechanical Site Engineer, who is overseeing the mechanical aspects of the project, and assist with the general site works and management and this will be a fantastic first project to begin on due to its high value and profile.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist the Mechanical Site Engineer with renovation tasks.
Support your line manager with overall site management.
Organize contractors and sub-contractors on-site.
Provide advice and input into mechanical installations.
Ensure health and safety (H&S) parameters are adhered to.
Review the scope of works.
Assist with the project to maximize efficiency and ensure profit margins are achieved.
Understand and contribute to the commercial objectives within your control.
Maintain positive and open channels of communication.
