The Client

We have a new opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team on a significant new build project which will be near York. We are looking for a candidate who is from a building services background and who is keen to step up the career ladder!

The Role and its Responsibilities

• Providing overall financial and commercial support 
• Evaluation of costs and advise on alternative proposals
• Prepare bills of quantities
• Assist with Pricing Variation accounts and sub-contract accounts
• Life cycle and whole life cost analysis
• Provide Weekly report (Progress and Contract) to Senior Managers
• Management of team
• Ensure workload is covered effectively and that compliance and processes are being followed
• Ensuring that commercial and administrative systems, budgets and cost control procedures are utilised
• Maximising cash flow through the control, measurement and valuation of work, and the invoicing of customers and payment of suppliers
• Produce/ compile accurate forecasts/ budget information
• Production of accurate reports to client
• Maintaining and improving client relations as well as ensuring full entitlement under the contract is achieved
• Ensure contract commercial deliverables and timescales are met
• Assess, review and mitigate commercial and contractual risks
• Responsible for ensuring works are valued, including any variation thereto, in accordance with the contract and analyses to determine the project True Value

Skills and Qualifications

Degree qualified with experience at using industry software
NEC Option C experience essential.
Experience working with a Tier 1 M&E Contractor

Salary and Package

£65-75K plus car/allowance and excellent company package. You will also have the opportunity to progress into a lead role with this project.
