The Client

Our client is recruiting for a Testing Manager to join their team based in Greater Manchester where the candidate will be the company expert on testing and assessment standards. They are a highly regarded company in the sectors of infrastructure, defence, nuclear and security and provide their clients with custom designed steel doors. Having worked on many high profile projects throughout the UK they also provide bespoke solutions for clients worldwide.

The Role and its Responsibilities

• Overall responsibility for testing
• Planning and management of projects
• Arrangement of all testing configurations
• Deliver works on time and in budget
• Maintain positive working relationships with 3rd parties and assessment bodies
• Produce and feedback data to relevant teams within the company
• Working on destructive and non-destructive testing
• Produce testing strategy documentation and pre and post-test documentations
• Responsible for final sign-offs 
• Reporting on failures 
• Produce propsals for remedial works
• Attend project meetings
• Overall responsibility for the success of Booth products
• Report writing (MS Office Suite)

The Individual

The client is looking for a positive candidate who can maintain a comprehensive filing structure and liaise with a variety of colleagues from different departments. You should be aware of technical developments within the industry to maximise the success of projects and adhere to company standards and be focussed on providing high quality products. 

Skills and Qualifications

• Minimum BEng in Engineering or Science (preferably Mechanical Engineering). 
• 10 yrs experience in application of engineering standards
• Experience in configuration management and destructive testing 
• Fire or Commissioning Engineer experience would be advantageous
• Technical standards to B1 core markets 
• Steel plate manufacturing knowledge

Salary and Package

£40-45K plus pension and holidays
