The Client
 
Our client is a leading company in design and consultancy on a global scale. Working in 70 countries they provide clients with individual and sustainable designs for their assets and have a current requirement for a Project Quantity Surveyor to join its Birmingham team in this office based role.

The role and its responsibilities

The role will see you working with the Project Director and Senior Surveyors in delivering professional pre and post contract quantity surveying services. Some of your responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to – 

  • Preparation of pre-contract cost estimates and project cash flow
  • Preparation of tender documentation
  • Tendering process and tender evaluation
  • Post contract administration and management contract documentation, valuation of progress payment, variation assessment, and cost control report
  • Finalisation of project final accounts. 
The Individual
 
The client is looking for a fully experienced Quantity Surveyor who can be flexible around some out of area site visits. Residential project experience would be a bonus to an applicants CV. 
 
Skills and Qualifications
  • RICS accreditation
  • Valid, clean driving license
  • CSCS card
  • Degree in Building, Quantity Surveying or equivalent from recognised universities.
  • at least 5 years relevant QS experience
  • Good technical knowledge – measurement, cost estimating, construction technology, contracts and law. 
  • Understand and be familiar with professional practice and contract administration processes. 
  • Able to work as a team player.
