The Client

Our multi award winning client provides design, install and maintenance of sustainable energy systems to many diverse public and private businesses. They and are market leaders within the field of low carbon energy solutions and provide innovative solutions within in a wide variety of sectors. They are currently recruiting for their commercial department and have a vacancy for a Senior Quantity Surveyor in the Midlands. The company is looking for candidates who have experience, or an interest in the procurement side of a project.

The Role and its Responsibilities

Procurement on projects including: 

• Initial liaison with the design and project teams
• Review of tenders to ensure a suitable supply chain partner is secured
• Organising enquiries and negotiating with supply chain
• Order of all items required

General Quantity Surveyor duties:
Management of client and contract

• Costings- from tender to final bid
• Financial management of contracts, working alongside the Contracts and Project Managers
• Preparation and actioning of contract documents, including sub-contractors 
• Organising payments and invoices for company and sub-contractors
• Producing monthly reports for progress meetings
• Vetting contractual terms and conditions and amending with the client where necessary
• Supporting the commercial team
• Minimizing commercial risks and resolving if necessary
• Variation management to ensure favourable financial outcome

Our client is looking for a career motivated candidate as this is an excellent opportunity to join this thriving company as part of their Senior Management team and to gain, or increase, skills within the field of procurement. 
Candidates who are creative and organised with excellent numeracy, communication, and negotiation skills will be considered for the role.  

Skills and Qualifications

• Degree Qualified Quantity Surveyor
• IT Literate with industry software experience
• Experienced in Building Services role
• Procurement experience would be advantageous but not essential to a succesful CV.
• Full UK driving license

Salary and Package

£55-60K plus excellent car allowance and pension and healthcare package.
